Phillip Edward Greene, 59, a resident of Greenville, AL died peacefully at home Sunday, July 28, 2019 with his Mother, Brother, and other Loving Relatives at his side. Phillip and his brother, Jimmy spent most of their younger years in the Friendship Community, where Grandparents, Aunts, uncles, Cousins, and many friends also lived. The last three days of Phillip's life, he was covered with love and memories of these earlier years which he was able to share with his brother and their cousins and friends. A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from the Johnson Funera Chapel with Rev. Michael Bryan officiating. Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana, AL directing arrangements. Phillip was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Greene. Survivors include: Mother: Mary Greene, Greenville, AL; Brother: Jimmy (Debbie) Greene, Andalusia, AL; Nieces: Meredith (Ryan) Harlos, Andalusia, AL and Samantha (Joel) Gann, Opelika, AL; Nephew: Jamey (Haydn) Greene, Andalusia, AL; 2 Great Nephews and 1 Great Niece; Uncle: William (Sue) Phillips, Georgiana, AL; Aunt: Belle (Jimmy) Peavy, Georgiana, AL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Comfort Hospice or one's favorite charity. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Wednesday from 2 p.m. until service time.
