Obituary


Kenneth Edward Herron, born April 14, 1932 in Natural Bridge, Al passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 peacefully in his sleep at home. He was a devoted husband and father. He loved his family and friends deeply. He had many hobbies including a love for music and wood working. He took great delight in giving away his craft work. He is survived by his Wife, Betty Gipson Herron; Daughters, Sandra (Rick) McKinney, Ramona (Macky) Hall and Melissa (Bayne) Searcy; Grand Daughters, Chrystan (Brad) Wingard, Hannah Hall, Keelie Hall, and Kendall Price, Grand Sons: Paul Evans, Baylor Searcy, and Owen Searcy; Great Grand Daughter: Isabelle Wingard; Sister: Lacey Blakely; Brother: Joseph Herron. He was predeceased by his brothers Thomas and Aaron Herron, Mother, Mary Evie Herron, and Father, Marvin Clovis Herron. Mr Herron was a member of the McKenzie Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Oak Park Masonic Lodge in Montgomery, Al. He served over thirty years in Government service through the United States Air Force, The Alabama National Guard and the Federal Aviation Administration. Pallbearers will be Rick McKinney, Bayne Searcy, Donald Booker, Harold Davis, Paul Evans, and Brad Wingard. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28 from Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in South Butler Cemetery.
