Mr. Hyram "Ansley" Hooks, age 71, a resident of Georgiana, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, after an extended illness at Baptist South in Montgomery, Alabama.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, with Michael Bush officiating, and Johnson Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Brooks Cemetery, Red Level, Alabama. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and continuing until 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Hyram was preceded in death by his parents, Hyram and Mary Ester Hooks, brother Joseph Michael Hooks, grandson Joshua Dakota Hooks, and nephew David Evan Hooks.

He married his wife Edna Hooks on Jan 18, 1980, son Lamar (Corissa) Ansley Hooks, special friend like a son Jamie Morgan, stepdaughter Charlene Morgan, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Ansley graduated from Georgiana High School and Trenholm Tech also attended Lurleen B. Wallace Jr. College and Reid. He had a love for racing and raced at A&E racing. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church for years, was a paramedic for 15 years, a volunteer fireman and rescue, police reserve. He worked Rheem MFS for 28 years, 2 years Lowery Wrecker Service, and Hyundai Steel for 21 years.

Ansley started working at the age of 15, with Lee Ambulance worked with Mav Lee until he passed also started working at Piggly Wiggly at age of 12 and worked there till 18. He went to work at Rheem MFS Afterman passed JC Laydd bought the ambulance and worked with him at Loyd Ambulance until he passed then Clayton Campbell at Campbell AMB until he sold it to Bobby Campbell Hartin worked the longest with Kirby's him B Haynes Ambulance, and Hornsby Ambulance and garage.
