Ms. Ernie Katherine Walker, died at the age of 92, on July 31, 2026, one day before her 93rd birthday.

She is preceded in death by her parents Horace and Vergie Watson; brother Arlen Watson; sisters Betty Lou Barnes, and Helen Huggins; daughters infant (unnamed) died at birth, Sharon Kay Rogers, Kimberly Renee Smith; spouse James Rogers, Leslie Walker.

She is survived by her sisters Bonnie Black, Sandra (Gary) Stinson, and her nieces and nephews.

Ms. Ernie loved to dance, and travel, she had an appreciation for fashion which led to her establishing a lady's boutique. Ernie faced many tragedies throughout her lifetime but still showed extreme courage & a zest for life.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Danny Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Georgiana, Alabama with Johnson Funeral Home directing. The family will be receiving friends for visitation, starting at 12:00 p.m. until service time.
